My grand parents and parents - by JungYu

Hi, my lovely classmates! This is Jung Yu. Are your grand parents are still alive? Sadly, when I was studying in my middle school, my grand father died. So, when Mark gave us this topic, I felt little bit sad. But I have to say this. He was one of the very nice guy. I'm still loving him a lot. Now, I'd like to talk about my grand father at first.

He was born in the countryside in 1916. A few years ago, our country was as advanced as it is now. So, most people used to farm to survive and to live in Korea. His father used to farm, too. Actually, I'm not too sure whether he had been finished his millitary service or not. But, he wanted to study in the University.

At that time, entering university was much harder than living as a farmer. His choice was not common in that days. But, he still wanted to study in University. He was just ordinary farmer's son. And, when everyone was telling him that it's impossible to enter the Seoul University, he had not cared about their thinking. Anyway, he sucessed to enter the Seoul university. He got a opportunity to study in University. And then, he had done it. That's why I really respect him so much.

And, he met my grand mother when he was going to the university. According to my father, he was a very quite person. So he had never met any girlfriends in his university. But, when he was meeting my grandmother, he was changed. And, they were married. My grand mother used to be very shy and quite person. At that time, my grand mother told my grand father to marry her at first! It was not common situation in that days. After marriage, my grand father was getting changed to more diligent.

My father was born. My father was really simillar to my grand father. He was as diligent as my grand father. When he worked in his restaurant, he never took a break like a machine. That's why he just worked in same company for 24 years! Now, despite of his retirement, he is still diligent. That's why I respect my father a lot. And, when he already studied Japanese, he knew how to study languege. When I decide to come to Canada, he always advised to me about studying different languege. I have to be a sucessful man who can speak English very well.

Especially these days, I missed my parents a lot. I can put up with it for a while because I endured my military service. I hope that after my studying in Canada, I will meet my parents as soon as possible.
